The first part of today was quite tough going on my feet. When I checked at Charing, our first stop, I discovered I had a big blister on the end of my little toe. Ouch! Fortunately, after a judicious plaster (to add to all the others) it was much better and I finished today’s 14 miles OK and am currently staying in the village of Wye.
Why do this? There are lots of reasons (other than tracking Jane Austen around the country-she made an appearance again today). You see parts of the country you wouldn’t see normally. And today there were a couple of almost unique pieces of church architecture.
For me personally there is of course the challenge; the spiritual as well as the physical experience. But, as you know, it’s fundamentally about standing alongside persecuted Christians. I know personally they are so grateful for any support they receive; to know they are not alone. All this is walk is fundamentally to stand alongside them.
Thanks for your interest and support.
